This workshop explores the use of plastic as product rather than simply a by-product of our daily habit of consumption. Participants will learn about the environmental impacts of plastics while exploring ways in which plastics can be creatively re-used. Instructor Carol Sogard will demonstrate how to heat fuse plastic through the use of an iron and then utilize this new durable material to create a variety of functional products. Participants will have the opportunity to design and construct with reclaimed plastics.
Participants are required to bring a variety of their choosing of the following: plastic bags, newspaper bags, grocery bags, and all shopping bags made from plastic. If possible, bring your own iron.
