Graphic Designer
• Develop concepts for and design all Utah Symphony | Utah Opera (USUO) collateral materials, including direct mail, print ads, postcards, flyers, invitations, busboards, banners, vouchers and coupons, and other marketing materials as needed.
Duties
• Meet all deadlines set by the Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations
• Coordinate brochures, including concepting and design
• Budget management for all pieces
• Manage the USUO and Deer Valley® Music Festival brands and style guidelines to ensure company-wide consistency
• Manage and maintain graphic files, including USUO logos, photos and art, as well as sponsor logos and photos from guest artists
• Assist the marketing and development teams with brainstorming, marketing and advertising strategies, and development print materials
• Work independently with USUO staff to generate information and approvals for all graphic materials produced
Miscellaneous
• Maintain collateral archives
• Be available for special events as a part of the marketing staff as needed
• Other periodical duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience
• Minimum three years experience in graphic design with portfolio
• Experience with web site design and updates
• Experience quoting and managing print jobs, as well as working with printing companies and print brokers
• Macintosh operating system proficiency, Windows knowledge a plus. Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator (CS3 or CS4), working
knowledge of Dreamweaver and Flash, and experience with Microsoft Office
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to handle multiple projects and schedules simultaneously
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Qualifications (Desired)
• General marketing experience
• Knowledge of the local Utah advertising market
Other information
• Full-time (40+ hours/ week) salaried in-house position
• Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, with occasional weekend and evening work
• Salary commensurate with experience
